Fall may have just started, but that doesn't mean snow isn't in the forecast. That will be the case for Denver this week, according to FOX 31.
Meteorologists from the station say a couple of storm systems are on the way, with the second one bringing the chance of rain and snow later in the week. The cold front is expected Wednesday (October 13) and snow levels will start at 8,000 feet Thursday (October 14). Forecasts say it will drop to 6,000 feet by Thursday night into Friday morning (October 15).
"A rain/snow mix is possible in Denver with 1 inch or less of accumulation on the grass, trees, and roofs," reporters say. "We are forecasting 2-3 nights at freezing in Denver: Wednesday morning, Thursday morning and Friday morning."
If you live in the mountains, the snow will likely come Tuesday, stacking more inches by Thursday and Friday. Saturday (October 16) and Sunday (October 17) will be drier and sunny, FOX 31 says.
Previous records show snowfall usually coming to the Denver area around this time. The city got some of the white stuff early last year in September. Last winter was the snowiest in over three decades!
Until then, enjoy mild and breezy conditions Monday (October 11) and Tuesday (October 12).
