VIDEO: Escaped Alpacas Make Mad Dash Through California Neighborhood

A pair of alpacas went on a wild two-hour adventure through various Oakland neighborhoods after they escaped their enclosure.

According to KGO, father and son alpacas, Boogie and Woogie gave drivers and homeowners quite the shock as they ran through Knowland Park.

Eventually, that made a mad dash under an I-580 underpass and ended up in a nearby neighborhood.

"It's as if the zoo came to me!" Aliyah Walker, who happened to be driving on 109th Avenue with her brother when they saw the animals, told KGO.

They started recording and caught the alpacas running down 109th Avenue through parked cars and homes. Darryl Walker, their father, posted the video to Nextdoor and it quickly went viral.

A homeowner managed to corral the alpacas and they alerted the California Highway Patrol and animal control.

From there, Boogie and Woogie were reunited with their owner, Tobias Riday.

He told KGO that he will never leave his backyard gate unlocked again after their night on the town.

According to Riday, the father-son duo came from an alpaca rescue. Boogie is a single father and he hopes with the video gaining such a wide audience, someone will help connect Boogie with a suitable mate.
