Cities like Los Angeles and New York are the first to come to mind when talking about movie production and show business.

A new local production company is looking to add Auburn, California to the list.

Innervoice Media marked its soft launch earlier this month.

Company partner Doug Stanley told FOX40 he's an Emmy Award-winning producer with decades of cinematography work under his belt.

While his line of work takes him all over the world, he claims nothing beats his hometown of Auburn.

“No matter where I go in the world working on film and television, I always come home to this place because I love it,” said Stanley.

The operations manager for Innervoice Media, Jai Hanes, is also a big fan of the quaint city.

“It’s great. Auburn, like a lot of places in this area, is untapped,” he added. “Great scenery, community support has been awesome. So some nice place to shoot can almost look like anywhere in the USA.”

According to Wikipedia, the city has a small but might legacy in popular culture. Not only did George Lennie from John Steinbeck's classic novel Of Mice and Men grow up in Auburn, but parts of films like The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle were also shot in the city.
