School is important, but receiving a college education isn't necessary for many professions that keep our society functioning. Stacker has compiled a list of the highest-paying jobs that don't require a college degree in the San Francisco area.
"Stacker consulted the Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Outlook Handbook to compile a list of all jobs that don't require higher education. All professions that listed a high-school diploma, some college education (without a degree conferred), postsecondary non-degree award, or no formal education requirements for entry-level positions were considered."
These are the top 10 highest-paying jobs in San Francisco that don't require a college degree:

- Court reporters and simultaneous captioners - Annual Mean Salary of $118,300
- Electrical power-line installers and repairers - Annual Mean Salary of $114,820
