The most popular cookie shop in New York City is coming to Los Angeles. According to Eater LA, Levain Bakery has recently signed a lease for a new space in Larchmont Village. This will be the bakery chain's 12th location.
While there's no word when exactly the beloved cookie shop with open to the public, Eater LA reports permits will be filed next week to start construction. Levain Bakery first opened its doors in 1995 in New York City's Upper West Side. Over the years they have expanded out of NYC to Washington D.C., Bethesda, Maryland, and Boston. Their $5 cookies with a gooey middle and crisp outer edge attract long lines in all the cities they have locations.
Levain also offers baked goods beyond cookies including baguettes, ciabatta, brioche pastries, scones, and muffins. Hold and cold coffee drinks, hot chocolate, and tea are also sold at their stores. Eater LA points out that Los Angeles is a city that appreciates baked goods with its countless panaderias and other popular cookie bakeries like Milk Jar Cookies, Zooies, Deluscious Cookies, and Cake Monkey.
