The exhaustive Ronnie James Dio documentary Dreamers Never Die is set to hit theaters by the end of summer, says Ronnie's widow and longtime manager Wendy Dio.

The film premiered this past March at the SXSW Film Festival. It features interviews Dio's many collaborators, friends and fans.

"We did a lot of different film festivals," Wendy said in a recent radio interview. "You go to film festivals to get a buyer for the film. And we have secured a buyer. And it will come out at the end of summer in theaters; it'll be in theaters the end of summer."

Dreamers Never Die is the first authorized documentary about Ronnie.

It reportedly traces his early life through to his "incredible rise from '50s doo-wop crooner to his early classic rock days in Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow, to replacing the iconic lead singer Ozzy Osbourne in Black Sabbath, to finally cement his legend with [his solo band] Dio. Ronnie's biography is completely unique to the tired sex, drugs and rock and roll clichés. The film is about perseverance, dreams and the power to believe in yourself."

Though Ronnie was renowned for his groundbreaking music, he was even more beloved as a friend, with a decades-long reputation for being one of the kindest people in heavy metal.

The film includes interviews with Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, Rob Halford, Lita Ford, as well as members of Ronnie's solo band, collaborators, contemporaries, friends and fans.

Dreamers Never Die will be released a little over a year after the arrival of his long-anticipated memoir, Rainbow in the Dark: The Autobiography.
