When asked about how it feels to have surpassed so many milestones during their time in the spotlight, lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong revealed:

"I mean...you never know where life takes you. I'm sounding like a cliche."

Bassist Mike Dirnt continued:

"We just roll in and make a mess and keep making messes and it's a hot mess right now...we like it!"

Armstrong shared that writing their own music and who they are as people go hand-in-hand, and that he's really proud that they've always done things their "own way."

As for what inspires them creatively, Drummer Trè Cool revealed that it's all about the "vintage stuff."

"You know like vintage guitars and old drums and like we play wooden instruments with metal bits attached to them and like that's pretty simple and very primitive."
