While there are hunters of small towns scattered throughout Massachusetts, only one is revered as the best!
According to a list compiled by World Atlas, the best small town in Massachusetts is Stockbridge. This charming locale houses welcoming residents, quaint shops, and offers plenty of beautiful outdoor experiences without the traffic and crowds.
Here's what World Atlas had to say about the best small town in the entire state:
"With the world’s largest collection of original Rockwell art, visitors adore majestic pieces such as Art Critic, The Runaway, and Family Tree. Besides Norman Rockwell, there are many other galleries and archives in town. They offer different kinds of artwork, memorabilia, and knowledge. Intertwined with history, Stockbridge is also home to some amazing gardens with endless species of beautiful flora. Berkshire Botanical Garden and Naumkeag Gardens are two of the most popular, boasting a relaxing aura and tranquil surroundings. Naumkeag is also one of the oldest, having been constructed in the late 1800s as part of a country estate for a New York City lawyer. Put it together and Stockbridge is a small town perfect for a relaxing weekend trip to de-stress."
