The truth behind a rumor surrounding one of Britney Spears' most iconic albums has finally been revealed.

It's been 25 years since the Princess of Pop released her 2000 sophomore album Oops!... I Did It Again, and throughout the years, a rumor has occasionally circulated stating the album's cover — shot by photographer Mark Seliger and featuring Spears in a brown two-piece outfit standing in a gold room amidst dangling beads — was taken at Lenny Kravitz's house in Miami. For the record's 25th anniversary, it appears that the truth is finally coming out.

Ruth Levy, executive producer for Seliger, cleared up the longstanding speculation to Page Six, noting that while Seliger and Kravitz are "close friends," the album cover has no association with the "Fly Away" musician.

"I can confirm the album cover was not shot at Lenny's house," Levy said.

If the artwork wasn't captured at his home, where was it taken? According to the outlet, an Instagram fan account for Spears alleges that the cover was actually shot at Quixote Studios in West Hollywood.

However, just because the album cover wasn't taken at Kravitz's home doesn't mean he has no association with the "Toxic" singer. His daughter, Zoë Kravitz, previously spoke to Variety about the time her famous dad took her to meet Spears when she was 11 years old.

"My dad surprised me. He was gone a lot on tour and all of that. So he was really sweet about when he would come into town to try and do something fun and surprise me," she said, adding that the experience was "very, very cool."
