Kid Cudi Will Reportedly Testify In Diddy's Trial

Kid Cudi is reportedly scheduled to testify at Sean "Diddy" Combs' criminal trial this week.

On Tuesday, May 20, the prosecution included Cudi, born Scott Mescudi, on its witness list during today's proceedings. According to TMZ, the 41-year-old rapper could be called to the witness stand as early as Wednesday, though it's possible his testimony could happen on Thursday. Cudi's name was mentioned several times during Cassandra "Cassie" Ventura's testimony last week. Ventura told the court about the moment when Combs allegedly attacked her with a wine bottle opener when he found out about her relationship with Cudi in 2011.

Ventura first confirmed the rumor about Combs' retaliation against Cudi in the lawsuit she filed in 2023. The couple began dating in 2011 while she and Combs were on a break. During her testimony, Ventura explained how Combs discovered their relationship from an email she sent to Cudi about leaving her belongings at his home. He found the email while he went through her phone during a freak off. Ventura said he got so furious that he lunged at her with a wine bottle opener.

The singer-model said she didn't want Combs to find out about her relationship with Combs because she was worried about how he would react. She testified that Combs threatened to harm both of them if their relationship continued. He also threatened to release two explicit videos of their freak-offs, including one on Christmas Day. She claimed Combs eventually followed through with his threat and beat her at his home.

“Too much danger, too much uncertainty of what could happen if we continued to see each other,” she said on the stand.

Ventura said Combs also threatened to blow up Mescudi's car. She claimed Combs told her they would be out of the country when the car blew up, and he wanted Mescudi’s friends to be there when it happened. The "Day N Night" rapper's car actually did explode in his driveway in February 2012. When Combs' threat to blow up Mescudi's was revealed in Ventura's lawsuit in 2023, Mescudi's rep confirmed the account.

As of this report, Kid Cudi's team has not confirmed if he will testify. He would be the latest celebrity to take the witness stand following Cassie and Dawn Richard's testimonies.
