Look what you made her do.

Swifties tuning into Monday's (May 19) episode of The Handmaid's Tale got a better glimpse at the first re-recorded track from Taylor Swift's long-awaited Reputation (Taylor's Version) when "Look What You Made Me Do (Taylor's Version)" served as the soundtrack for the opening scene in episode nine of the Hulu series' sixth and final season, per Page Six.

The scene featured over two minutes of the fan-favorite track playing as June Osborne (Elizabeth Moss) led the handmaids in an uprising against the Commanders that was fit for the song's lyrics. Speaking to Billboard, Moss explained why "Look What You Made Me Do (Taylor's Version)" was the "perfect" choice for the epic showdown.

"I've been wanting to use a Taylor song for many years on the show and we finally found the perfect spot for a track from her, and I'm so glad we waited because there could not be a more perfect song for a more perfect moment," she said. "Taylor has been such an inspiration to me personally. As a Swiftie myself, and I think I can speak for [co-star] Yvonne [Strahovski] and our entire cast as well, who are all Swifites, it's such an honor to be able to use her music in the final episodes of our show."

Snippets of the re-recorded track have been featured as far back as summer 2023 but the extended feature on The Handmaid's Tale gave fans a longer taste of the track from Swift's highly-anticipated album. Swifties, widely known for catching easter eggs and subtle clues, recently speculated that Rep (TV) is coming sooner rather than later after noticing hidden details on the singer's website.
