Kim Kardashian is one step closer to becoming a lawyer.
The SKIMS founder shared a video on her Instagram Stories on Wednesday (May 21) to announce that she "finally graduated" from law school after six years of studying, per E! News. She looked the part in the clips, wearing a tan tasseled graduation cap that matched a gown placed on the back of her chair as she proudly watched on as her family and friends hosted a surprise private commencement ceremony.
"All of you guys have been on this journey with me," she said in a speech, adding that her desire to study law began after she was left "dumbfounded" by the state of the legal system.
Some of her mentors were also on hand to praise Kardashian for having "one of the most inspiring legal journeys" they have seen.
"Six years ago, Kim Kardashian walked into this program with nothing but a fierce desire to fight for justice. No law school lectures, no ivory tower shortcuts, just determination," one mentor said, adding that she worked "18 hours a week, 48 weeks a year for six straight years" to get to this point. "That's a total of 5,184 hours of legal study. That's time she carved out while raising four children, running businesses, filming television shows and showing up in courtrooms to advocate for others."
Another mentor noted some of her accomplishments throughout her law school journey, from advocating for clemency to bringing "national attention to some of the most broken parts of our legal system."
The celebration even included some themed elements, such as placemats fashioned from her old flashcards and notes and a pink Legally Blonde-inspired cake, complete with a gavel on top.
