Chappell Roan isn't a "villain" – she just wants respect.

Roan, along with her drag mother and celebrated queen Sasha Colby, appeared on the May 20 episode of the Outlaws podcast, where she spoke to host TS Madison about her multiple "villain" eras over the past year since skyrocketing to fame, per People.

"I think that I've had like three [villain eras] in the past nine months probably just because I was the new girl in the pop game, where I was like, 'I don't give a f--- what you say to these girls who have been doing this since they were 10 and have been told this is okay, how you're treated,'" she said, adding, "Why is this customary?"

The 26-year-old "Pink Pony Club" singer has made headlines in the past for calling out what she deems as disrespectful behavior, such as addressing a photographer on the 2024 MTV VMAs red carpet who allegedly said "shut the f--- up."

Roan noted that she has job experience outside of the industry to compare the interactions to so she knows "what it's like to be an adult and how to be respected in a job." She even claimed that she was "treated better" when she worked at a donut shop than when she is walking on a red carpet and doesn't think asking someone not to be rude means she is "ungrateful" to be there. In fact, calling out that behavior helps create boundaries that will help her in the long run.

"Do you want me to just get to the point where I become agoraphobic? Or so stressed out or so anxious to perform?" she asked. "Because if I don't say anything I will. If I do not stand up for myself, I will quit because I cannot bear this."

Elsewhere in the podcast, the "Giver" singer detailed a major "turning point" in her life that helped lead her on her path to becoming the Femininomenon that she is, revealing exactly how she was left "in awe."
