Miley Cyrus was heckled by fans during a Q&A at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York on Friday (June 6) for not performing her music.
According to US Weekly, the "Malibu" songstress was promoting her upcoming musical film, Something Beautiful, succeeding her newly-released record of the same name, when fans started yelling at her from the crowd.
Cyrus was in the middle of answering a question when one fan shouted, "We thought this was a concert. We paid $800. Are you actually going to sing?" The 32-year-old icon was not prepared to perform, but after a few uncomfortable moments and another fan suggesting she sing "The Climb," Cyrus gave in.
The "Flowers" star offered a few lines of the hit before realizing that the crowd, who had just jeered her for not singing, was not singing along.
"You’re not singing," she told attendees. A clip of the incident, posted by TIMETOTIME on YouTube, shows Cyrus navigating the awkward interruptions with kindness and compliance, even though she was never supposed to perform.
Fans sounded off in the comment section of the video in support of the "7 Things" sensation, calling the interruptions "rude" and "sad."
