The U.S. may hold the nickname of "America the Beautiful," but the awe-inspiring scenery, breathtaking views and one-of-a-kind outposts stretch far beyond the borders of the states.

LoveExploring compiled a list of the "most beautiful attractions" found around the "vast and diverse" continent that is North America, searching for incredible spots like "captivating cities," sparkling waters in hidden lakes and picturesque wilderness stretching as far as the eye can see. Among the list are two gorgeous spots in Washington: the vast beauty of Diablo Lake (No. 11) and the ethereal quality of Hoh Rainforest in Olympic National Park (No. 61).

Here's what the site had to say about these stunning spots:

"The color of Diablo Lake, in North Cascades National Park, is no trick of the eye or the light. The vivid, milky turquoise hue is very real, caused by flour-like particles that have been ground from rocks by surrounding glaciers. The lake does look even more spectacular when they catch the light, though, creating a breathtaking vista agains the forested banks and mountain backdrop."
"Olympic National Park is one of the continent's most varied parks, with scenery that ranges from glacier-capped peaks to burnished gold beaches and natural hot springs. But Hoh Rainforest, named after the river that flows from Mount Olympus to the Pacific, is something really special. The temperate rainforest glimmers in vivid shads of green, with old-growth trees shrouded in emerald moss and ferns."
