Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark is expected to return from a left groin injury during Wednesday (July 9) night's game against the Golden State Valkyries after missing the team's last five games.

Clark, 23, participated in the Fever's 5-on-5 drills Monday (July 7) for the first time since suffering her injury on June 24 and was optimistic that she'd be available barring any setbacks during the next 24 hours.

"It's nice to get back out there and get back into the flow of playing with my teammates again," Clark told reporters at practice on Tuesday (July 8) via ESPN. "It's going to be fun to get back out there hopefully and just feel things again. "It's obviously hard sitting out and watching for a few weeks, so I'm excited to get out there."

The Fever went 3-2 during Clark's absence, which included winning the WNBA Commissioner's Cup last week. The former No. 1 overall pick had previously missed five games last month due to a left quad injury, having been absent for a total 10 of Indiana's 18 games.

Clark, the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year, averaged 19.0 points, 9.3 assists and 6.0 rebounds during the Fever's first four games of the 2025 WNBA season.
