Sean "Diddy" Combs is doing everything possible to rehabilitate himself before he receives his sentence this fall.
According to a report TMZ published on Tuesday, July 15, the music mogul has entered into two programs to combat his issues with drugs and domestic violence. One of the treatments is known as the STOP Program, which stands for Specialized Treatment for Optimized Programming (STOP). It's a course offered to inmates that focuses on preventing sexual assault, domestic abuse, and dating violence. He's also participating in Dr. Harry K. Wexler's drug abuse program and is undergoing therapy.
Sources tell the outlet that Combs entered into the programs to help overcome his issues and embark on the road to salvation. Combs started the drug treatment program before he was arrested last year and decided to continue it while he's locked up. However, some may say he's working overtime to appease the judge as he contemplates the veteran artist's sentence in a few months. Combs was found guilty on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.
The jury was able to convict Combs on both counts due, in part, to the testimony his former girlfriends, Casandra "Cassie" Ventura and "Jane," delivered during the 7-week trial. They both described harrowing instances in which they suffered from domestic violence following Combs' drug-induced sex parties, a.k.a. "freak-offs." Though he was acquitted of the more serious charges, Combs still faces up to 10 years of prison per count. However, it's unlikely that he'll face the maximum. Prosecutors have recommended a four-year prison sentence, but the music executive's legal team is fighting for a two-year sentence.
Combs' sentencing hearing is scheduled for October 3.
