The death of Hulk Hogan hit the wrestling world hard, but it also struck a chord within the hip-hop community.

Hogan's family announced his passing on Thursday, July 24, shortly after the 71-year-old suffered from cardiac arrest. Soon after the news broke, a handful of rappers took to social media to pay their respects to the WWE Hall of Famer. Fat Joe was one of the first to share his reaction and honor the late pro wrestler.

"He was my friend," Joe wrote. "As soon as i film the next joe and jada!!!!! Im going in Hulk Hogan Stories. God bless the Hulkster a true American Icon 🙏🏽💔"

In addition, Sexyy Red, who made a cameo on WWE NXT last year, appeared to be shocked by Hogan's death. She simply wrote, "Hulk hogan???????" on her X timeline. Fellow wrestling fans Westside Gunn and Metro Boomin also shared their thoughts about Hogan. Westside Gunn,
who recently launched his 4th Rope wrestling promotion, posted a broken heart emoji and a dove over Hogan's photo to his Instagram Story. Metro Boomin also flooded his Instagram Story with dedications to Hulk Hogan, including the time when Hogan bumped Jeezy's "I Luv It" on repeat.

Other revered wrestlers like Ric Flair and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson also paid their respects to Hogan. Ric Flair memorialized his "close friend" by reflecting on the good time they shared during their prime in the WWF (now WWE). Meanwhile, The Rock paid homage to Hogan's everlasting legacy.

"You 'drew the house' meaning you sold out every arena and stadium across the country in your prime as Hulk Hogan, on your way of becoming the greatest of all time," Johnson wrote. "From deep in my bones, and on behalf of this wild and crazy world of professional wrestling that we love, I say to you now, and forever… Thank you for the house, brother."

Rest in peace, Hulk Hogan. See more tributes below.
