Sean "Diddy" Combs is garnering more support for his release from jail. After President Donald Trump weighed in on a potential pardon, the mogul's ex-girlfriend is now advocating for his freedom.
According to a report TMZ published on Sunday, August 4, Gina Huynh submitted a letter to Judge Arun Subramanian in which she vouches for Combs' release as part of her ex's bid for bail. Huynh was included in the original indictment as "Victim 3" but refused to cooperate with prosecutors during the trial. In her letter, she acknowledges that their relationship "was not always perfect," but also believes that Combs is not a danger to her or the community.
"I am writing because I do not view Mr. Combs as a danger to me or to the community," Huynh wrote. "This is his first criminal case. Throughout the investigation and proceedings he has been cooperative, respectful, and compliant. He has substantial ties to his family and community, including children who depend on him for emotional and financial support. Granting him a bond would allow him to continue caring for his family and fulfilling his responsibilities while still subject to the Court's supervision."
Huynh and Combs reportedly dated from 2014 to 2019 while he and his former girlfriend, Casandra "Cassie" Ventura, were on a break. Huynh was included in the indictment along with Ventura and "Jane" as "Victim 3," but she ultimately declined to testify. While it's clear she opted to support her ex in his time of need, Huynh's letter is a complete 180 from her previous thoughts about Combs. In 2019, the model claimed the artist allegedly mentally and physically abused her way before Ventura made similar allegations in her bombshell lawsuit. She detailed the allegations in an interview Tasha K.
Combs' attorneys are actively pushing a new bail package to Judge Subramanian ahead of the music executive's sentencing hearing in October. The judge has not ruled on Combs' recent bid for bail, but he did deny his previous attempts after citing that he's a danger to the community.
