Audrey Hobert has something exciting up her sleeve.
The singer-songwriter recently joined McCabe at iHeartRadio's Kiss 108's Boston Music Lounge for a chat about everything from her love of the city and her upcoming debut album Who's the Clown?, out Friday (August 15), to performing with her best friend Gracie Abrams.
While many musicians may have a case of nerves leading up to an album drop, especially their debut, the up-and-coming artist admitted she is too excited to be nervous. In fact, she wakes up "screaming" because she can't wait to release the project for all to hear.
"I've been asked like, 'Are you nervous?' And it's like, no! No, no, no," she said. "I can't believe we've arrived, just because we finished it in March, and I've just been waiting, waiting for this week and I keep finding myself staring out windows and like smiling to myself... I wake up from a dream and I'm screaming because I'm so excited... I'm really proud of it and excited."
Though she is gearing up for her debut record, Hobert already has experience making music that audiences have enjoyed. According to People, she co-wrote several songs on Abrams' 2024 album The Secret of Us, including the hit "That's So True," a feat that Hobert is still basking in.
"To have a song in the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100, it means the entire world," she told the outlet. "It's the coolest thing that's ever happened. I've been a pop music fan my entire life, so it feels sometimes completely unreal, and to have done it with my most treasured friend, it's literally my favorite thing."
