Big Boy is looking back at some of the toughest moments he's ever been through while on air.

On Tuesday, August 19, iHeartRadio released its new conversation with the legendary radio host ahead of National Radio Day. After reflecting on the first time he ever cracked the mic, the host of Big Boy's Neighborhood on Real 92.3 was asked about the most difficult situation he's faced while on-air. Big Boy said he had a few of them, but the biggest struggle he had to overcome was the death of his mother, Ida, who was not only the beacon of his life but also a major part of his show.

"My toughest on-air moment was the day my mom passed," he explained. "The day my mom passed, I had to be at work. I remember calling in to tell the team that I lost my mom. So I got on-air, and that was one of the hardest things to do was to announce to Los Angeles that my mom passed. And people knew the relationship that I had with my mom."

Before her death, Ida used to make drops for her son. She was the voice fans would hear when the radio station would play recap promos for Big Boy show. Ida's death wasn't the only difficult moment Big Boy experienced during his time on the air. He also felt distraught when he had to inform the city of Los Angeles that 2Pac, Kobe Bryant, and Nipsey Hussle passed away during the prime of their lives.
