Doja Cat Is Seeing Double As She Admits She’s The ‘Jealous Type’

Doja Cat is showing off her jealous side in her latest single.

On Thursday (August 21), the hitmaker dropped her new song "Jealous Type," the lead single off her upcoming fifth studio album Vie. The record, out September 26, is a follow-up to 2023's Scarlet. Produced by Y2K and Jack Antonoff, "Jealous type" is an '80s-influenced tune that sees her returning to the pop space, per Stereogum; though she still keeps her hip-hop prowess alive with a rap verse in the middle of the track.

"Boy let me know if this is careless," she sings in the chorus. "I could be torn between two roads that I just can't decide/ Which one is leading me to hell or paradise?/ Baby, I can't hurt you, sure, but I'm the jealous type/ I'm the jealous type."

She also shared an accompanying music video, directed by Boni Mata, that doubled down on the dark '80s vibe, and even doubled up on the amount of Doja. The video starts with one version of the singer, with a teased blonde hairstyle and open white shirt, turning on a vintage film reel to admire another version of herself singing in a leopard-print ensemble. Two Dojas end up meeting atop a white limousine interspersed with scenes of another blonde Doja dressed in red lingerie and dancing near an elevator.
