Sabrina Carpenter made a splash with a live performance of her latest single.

The Man's Best Friend singer returned to the main stage at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday (September 7) to wow the crowd with a rendition of her new song "Tears." Entering the stage from a sewer grate, Carpenter strutted around a city street scene with drag queens hyping her up as she sang.

After ditching her beaded dress to reveal a bedazzled fringed top and black tights, the "Manchild" singer made it rain — literally — during a dance break, joining forces with queens and bare-chested cops as rain poured down before ended the performance as a group with signs supporting drag and trans rights held aloft.

Carpenter was also nominated for several awards throughout the night, even taking home the moonman for Best Album for her 2024 record Short n' Sweet.

In addition to Carpenter, the 2025 MTV VMAs, hosted by LL Cool J, featured performances from some of the day's biggest artists, such as Doja Cat, Alex Warren, Tate McRae, Post Malone, Jelly Roll, Mariah Carey and more. Don't miss out on all of the jaw-dropping red carpet looks and see which of your favorite artists were crowned winners and took home an iconic moonman trophy.
