Sean "Diddy" Combs is expected to address his charges in court during his sentencing hearing.

According to a report TMZ published on Wednesday, October 1, the embroiled artist wants to speak on his own behalf before he's sentenced for his two Mann Act convictions. Combs did not testify during the trial so this will be the first time he'll talk about the charges he faced in open court.

"The sentencing proceeding holds significant importance for Mr. Combs," his attorney Teny Geragos. "He wishes to appear before the Court, address Your Honor, and allocute in the most dignified and respectful fashion possible."

Combs primarily used his attorneys to address the court and the general public since his arrest in 2024. He may use the opportunity to show and prove how much he's changed during his time at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. He's been locked up there since he was denied bail multiple times before and after the trial ended. As his attorneys have emphasized, Combs underwent therapy and enrolled in the STOP program, which is a course that's offered to help prevent domestic abuse, sexual assault, and other types of dating violence.

Judge Arun Subramanian previously denied Combs' request for a new trial and any chance of an acquittal. However, the judge will allow Combs to wear street clothes for his hearing instead of his usual orange jumpsuit. Combs faces a maximum of 20 years in prison. Prosecutors have asked the judge to sentence Combs to more than 10 years behind bars and a $500,000 fine. His attorneys have argued for over a year in prison with time served.

Combs' family and friends, including his former girlfriend Yung Miami, have submitted letters to Judge Subramanian in support of a light sentence, while his other ex-girlfriend, Casandra "Cassie" Ventura, has asked the judge to throw the book at him. We'll see what the judge has to say on Friday.
