Lola Young is taking a break but plans to "come back stronger."
On Tuesday (September 30), the "Messy" singer shared a message on Instagram telling fans that she will be "going away for a while" to take some time for herself and canceling upcoming events. The move comes days after she collapsed on stage while performing at the All Things Go Music festival in New York City on Saturday and pulled out of the festival in Washington, D.C. the following day, per People.
"It pains me to say I have to cancel everything for the foreseeable future," she said. "Thank you for all the love and support. I'm so sorry to let anyone down who has bought a ticket to see me, it hurts me more than you know. Obviously you will be entitled to a full refund."
She added, "I really hope you'll give me a second chance once I've had some time to work on myself and come back stronger. Love you all, Lola x."
The 24-year-old English singer was in the middle of performing her song "Conceited" at Forest Hills Stadium in Queens on Saturday when she reportedly passed out, according to E! News. Videos shared to social media captured her looking off to the side of the stage and mouthing that she was going to faint before she fell backwards and was carried off stage. She later shared an updated on her Instagram Stories telling fans she was "doing OK now" and thanking them for their support.
The following day, she confirmed that she would not be performing at the All Things Go Music Festival in DC on Sunday.
"I love this job and I never take my commitments and audience for granted, so I'm sorry to those who will be disappointed by this," she said in an Instagram post. "I hope you'll all give me another chance in the future. Thank you to all those who listen and care. To all the people that love to be mean online, pls give me a day off. ❤️ Lola."
