Washington Commanders wide receiver Terry McLaurin was among three players officially ruled out for Sunday's (October 5) game against the Los Angeles Chargers, the team confirmed in its Thursday (October 2) injury report.

"Thursday injury report WR Terry McLaurin, WR Noah Brown and G Sam Cosmi are not traveling with the team to Los Angeles today and are ruled OUT for Sunday's game," the Commanders wrote on their X account.

McLaurin suffered a quad injury during the Commanders' Week 3 win against the Las Vegas Raiders and was ruled out for last Sunday's (September 28) loss to the Atlanta Falcons. The veteran wide receiver hadn't previously missed a game since Week 16 of the 2020 season.

McLaurin has led the Commanders in receptions and receiving yards in each year since his rookie season in 2019, as well as touchdown receptions in four of his first six seasons. Quarterback Jayden Daniels, who also missed last Sunday's game due to a knee injury, has been a full practice participant in each of the last two days, according to the Commanders' injury report.

Daniels suffered a knee sprain during his team's Week 2 Thursday Night Football loss to the Green Bay Packers. The second-year quarterback underwent an MRI and the injury wasn't suspected to be a long-term issue.

Daniels led the Commanders to their first postseason berth since the 2020 season, which ended with a loss to the eventual Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Championship Game and had one of the greatest rookie seasons for the quarterback in NFL history, winning the 2024 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year award after throwing for 3,568 yards, 25 touchdowns and nine interceptions on 331 of 480 passing, while also recording 891 yards and six touchdowns on 148 rushing attempts.
