President Donald Trump granted pardons for 77 individuals accused in a plot to overturn his 2020 presidential election loss including Rudy Giuliani, Sidney Powell and Kenneth Chesebro, Department of Justice Pardon Attorney Edward R. Martin Jr. announced late Sunday (November 9) night.

Martin shared the pardon document as a reply to an earlier X post in which he wrote "No MAGA left behind" on May 26. The individuals included in the list were given a "full, complete and unconditional pardon" in relation to the alleged scheme to organize alternative slates of electors from swing states won by former President Joe Biden, which included Georgia, Arizona, Nevada, Wisconsin and Michigan.

“This proclamation ends a grave national injustice perpetrated upon the American people following the 2020 Presidential Election and continues the process of national reconciliation,” Trump wrote in the pardoning document.

Trump's former chief of staff Mark Meadows and advisers Josh Eastmen, Christina Bobb and Boris Epshtey were also among the prominent figures pardoned late Sunday night. The president didn't, however, pardon himself when he signed the sweeping proclamation on Friday (November 7).

“This pardon does not apply to the President of the United States, Donald J. Trump,” a line near the end of the document stated.

The pardon mainly served as being symbolic as none of the 77 individuals included ever faced federal charges, but does potentially prevent future administrations from prosecuting them further. The "fake electors" scheme resulted in Trump's supporters rioting at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021, in an effort to stop the certification of his loss to Biden in the 2020 presidential election.

Trump had previously pardoned the more than 1,000 individuals charged in the January 6 riots on the night of his inauguration earlier this year.
