Manager Of Biggie's Estate Denies Claim That Diddy Made Them Cover Funeral

The estate of the late Notorious B.I.G. has disputed a shocking claim that was made in the new docuseries about Sean "Diddy" Combs.

On Thursday, December 4, The Breakfast Club's Loren LoRosa said she spoke to Wayne Barrow, who worked with Biggie's mother Voletta Wallace to manage the rapper's estate. Barrow heard about the allegations Kirk Burrowes made in Netflix's Sean Combs: The Reckoning, in which he accused Combs of setting up a massive funeral for the Bad Boy artist and then money from Biggie's record deal to cover the costs. Acording to the longtime associate of the Wallace family, that story isn't true.

Barrow told LoRosa that he helped plan and facilitate the funeral in 1997 alongside Biggie's family and Burrowes. He confirmed that Bad Boy did pay for everything and emphasized that there's no royalty statement that would show that any of costs from the funeral came out of Biggie's account. Barrow said the family didn't pay for anything, and believed it was disrespectful for anyone to imply that Biggie's mom or friends would be naive enough to see something in the royalty statements and not stop it.

He also addressed another rumor that's been floating around for some time. Combs was accused of scrapping an alleged Rolling Stone cover that was planned for Biggie and used it for himself to help promote his debut album No Way Out. Barrow said that there was no conversation about a Rolling Stone cover with anyone from Biggie's estate.

Netflix's new docuseries, executive produced by 50 Cent, has become the hottest topic of the week since it debuted on Tuesday. Combs' legal team has denounced the program as a "shameful hit piece" that used "stolen footage." They sent a cease-and-desist to Netflix, however, the streaming platform has yet to comply.
