A record executive who works with d4vd was reportedly questioned in front of a grand jury this week, which is a sign that authorities are building their case against the singer.
According to a report TMZ published on Tuesday, December 9, Robert Morgenroth — who serves as the general manager of d4vd's record label, Mogul Vision, and the president of the singer's touring company, Zara Brothers Travel — was called to testify in front of a grand jury. During the hearing on Monday, Morgenroth was grilled by Deputy District Attorney Beth Silverman, who presented the case to the grand jury.
"She was very pushy on why I didn't call police," Morgenroth allegedly told his attorney. "I said I feel like I didn't have the responsibility to do that, and just wanted to continue with the tour."
It's not clear which tour Morgenroth was referring to, but d4vd was just a month into his "WITHERED World Tour" when the body of Celeste Rivas was discovered inside the front trunk of the singer's Tesla at a Hollywood impound lot. The car was towed to the lot after it was abandoned on the street near a home where he once lived in the Hollywood Hills area.
D4vd, born David Anthony Burke, is reportedly considered a suspect in the investigation of Rivas' death. A recent update in the case focuses on an alleged trip the artist took earlier this year. Police claim he drove out to the middle of nowhere in Santa Barbara County during the spring and stayed there for several hours. D4vd hasn't publicly commented on the investigation, but he did get legal representation. He also canceled his world tour and pulled insensitive merch from his website. While d4vd has remained mum on the subject, his manager, Josh Marshall, did speak out and denied allegations of his involvement with Rivas' death.
