NBA YoungBoy managed to avoid charges after being involved in a traffic stop on New Year's Eve in American Fork, Utah. Utah Highway Patrol troopers stopped the vehicle on Interstate 15 and discovered illicit drugs inside. However, the rapper, who was a passenger, was not charged or arrested.
According to KUTV, the driver and another passenger in the vehicle claimed ownership of the drugs. Utah Highway Patrol Sergeant Mike Alexander confirmed that the Utah County Attorney’s Office decided to screen charges against these two individuals, not NBA YoungBoy.
During the search, authorities also found cash in the vehicle, but they did not establish any link between the money and the drugs. NBA YoungBoy resides in Utah and has faced legal issues in the state before. In 2024, he paid a $25,000 fine for prescription drug fraud and served time for a felony firearm possession. Despite his past, law enforcement officials stated that Gaulden's history did not influence the current investigation.
The Utah County Attorney’s Office is reviewing the case against the driver and passenger, but no timeline has been provided for potential charges. Gaulden has not publicly commented on the incident, and his representatives have not responded to requests for comment.
