The music of Alex E.T. evokes the bright guitar jangle of Los Angeles' Paisley Underground scene in the ‘80s, itself an homage to an earlier generation of psychedelic rock. But the Los Angeles-based guitarist, who first gained notice for her self-recorded The Ashes (2021) before devising a catchy, full-volume follow-up in 2025's Color of Strange, was a long time coming -- she first made a name for herself in a Midwestern art collective.
