b. Everette Ellis, 1964, Savannah-Le-Mar, Jamaica, West Indies. Ellis nurtured his voice singing in his school choir and at Sunday school. His school concerts led to performances on Jamaica's north coast, which provided a regular income and allowed him to perfect his own style. Appearances alongside Dennis Brown, Freddie McGregor and Ninjaman led the singer to Kingston, where he recorded his debut, ‘Peace In The East', a comment on the Gulf War, at Tuff Gong for the Ghetto Youths United subsidiary.
