Seattle-based composer David Mahler works with tape to create unique, sometimes humorous works, from teaching the theme song to The Mickey Mouse Club backwards ("Speech With Interpreter"), to parodying text-sound composition and its Swedish roots in "(Singing in the Style Of) The Voice of the Poet," his most acclaimed composition. Mahler has been active in Seattle's experimental music scene since the '70s.
