Like Tenacious D and Steel Panther, Diamondsnake lovingly satirize the bombast of ‘80s hair metal. Phil Costello (comical frontman of Satanicide, Children of the Unicorn, and Bee Gees metal tribute band Tragedy) hooked up with Moby in the winter of 2010, and the absurd vocalist and the electronic music icon made plans to start a new project together. After recording a few dozen demos in Moby's Manhattan studio, Diamondsnake were born.
