Singer Doran "Dorn" Beattie has shared his distinctive talents with many bands, both rock and country, over at least three long decades in the music business. He started his professional musical career around the end of the '60s as a member of a psychedelic rock group from Calgary, Alberta, Canada, called the 49th Parallel. Other members were guitarists Bob Carlson and Dan Lowe, drummers Terry Bare and Bob Ego, bassist Dave Downey, and organist Jack Velker.
