This was when he joined the Edmonton-based band, Rock ‘N' Horse, with which he recorded Highways in 1991. The band was successful, picking up a Juno Award nomination as Country Group Of The Year, and their singles sold well but by 1993 Steele moved on to further his career as a solo singer and as a songwriter.
