Hailing from Minneapolis, Goldy Locks was raised in a music-rich environment by parents who had christened her "Moon Shadow" after the song by Cat Stevens. Obsessed by music, she bought her first keyboard by selling snack foods to her Catholic schoolmates during weeks when they would be adhering to a limited diet.
