Biography
An obscure Swedish band inspired by the New Wave of British Heavy Metal and especially the works of Iron Maiden, Gotham City recorded two independent albums -- 1983's Black Writs and 1984's The Unknown, each of which have since become as collectible as they are hard to find. Both were performed by guitarist Marten Edlund, bassist Bjorn-Erik Melander, and drummer Jonas Ostman (later to work briefly with Yngwie Malmsteen), and the first album featured singer Ola Ohlsson, while the second counted with future Nocturnal Rites frontman Anders Zackrisson. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia
