Lineup changes are not uncommon in the world of metal bands. Some metal combos can go through numerous lineup changes without significantly changing or altering their sound; for others, lineup changes can mean reinventing themselves stylistically. Herod (whose name was inspired by King Herod of Judea in the Bible) is a perfect example of the latter; by the time they celebrated their third anniversary, Herod maintained only two of their original members and had changed their sound dramatically.
