Hinda Hicks

Born in Tunisia but raised in West Sussex, soul singer Hinda Hicks emerged in the late '90s as one of the U.K.'s most promising talents. Originally developing a passion for basketball, she became a qualified coach and was offered a U.S. scholarship. But after being encouraged by a friend who overheard her singing along to an Aretha Franklin track, she soon switched her focus to music.
