James Brandon Lewis is a New York-based tenor saxophonist, composer, and bandleader whose instrumental voice marries the emotional power of gospel, gritty, modal post-bop, and the influences of Albert Ayler and John Coltrane. Moments, Lewis' 2010 debut, was followed by two outings on Sony Masterworks' revived OKeh imprint: Divine Travels in 2014 and the widely celebrated Days of Freeman in 2015.
