Nashville-based gospel singer Kyla Jade sang her way into the finals of season 14 of television singing competition The Voice in 2018. The Topeka, Kansas native grew up singing in church gospel choirs, later joining the Nashville Super Choir on BET's Bobby Jones Gospel after college. She auditioned as backing vocalist for American Idol alum Jennifer Hudson, who become one of her biggest supporters.
