Vocalist-mandolinist Lou Reid has long been a mover and a shaker in the world of bluegrass, so it was no surprise when he formed another fine group, Carolina, in the early '90s. Reid, who had played with Doyle Lawson and the Seldom Scene, put together the band in 1992, and by 1994, they had won IBMA's Emerging Artist of the Year award.
