The musician known as MkX first debuted his mix of dance-pop, smooth R&B, and quirky electronica on the 2017 single "The Look." The singer/songwriter/producer maintained a consistently sultry, electronics-based palette on subsequent solo material, which also incorporated hip-hop beats. Hailing from Boston, Massachusetts, Michael Kouroubacalis started playing guitar as a six-year-old. Soon after, his older sister Marissa took up the drums.
