Guatemalan pop/rock band Radio Viejo was formed in 1989 by singer Luilly Donis, drummer William Girón, and guitarists José Ordoñez and Giovani López; they were later joined by bass player Mauricio Ordoñez. They debuted on a local radio station chart with a song called "Tú La Tienes Que Olvidar." After Mauricio Ordoñez decided to leave the band, bassist Rolando Amado joined, recording Claroscuro, which was released by the independent label Primera Generación and featured the local hits "Angel" and "Una Cerveza Más."
