Biography

b. Daniel Shipley, 2 May 1945, Dallas, Texas, USA. Bannon sang in a church choir when young, and then worked numerous clubs in Texas in rock and soul bands. In 1968, while working as a disc jockey for a radio station in Seattle, he took the name R.C. Bannon, based on the product RC Cola. In 1973 Bannon opened for Marty Robbins but the solo records he subsequently made for Capitol Records were unsuccessful.
