Richard Addinsell

Addinsell studied at the Royal Conservatory of Music before an extended period of study in Berlin and Vienna. He began writing for film during a visit to the USA in 1933 and continued throughout his career. His film scores include A Tale of Two Cities in 1958 and The Prince and the Showgirl in 1957. He is best known for the piano concerto the Warsaw Concerto, a one movement work in the style of Rachmaninov which was played in the film Dangerous Moonlight, 1941.
