Road

Former Jimi Hendrix Experience bass player Noel Redding led this Los Angeles-based trio. The line-up was completed by Leslie Sampson (drums) and lead guitarist Rod Richards. Road is largely undistinguished, relying on power rather than the melody of Redding's previous venture Fat Mattress. When the unit folded the bass player continued his career while Richards joined Motown guitar band Rare Earth. Sampson meanwhile moved to San Francisco where he became a member of Eggs Over Easy.
