A play on the term for an atmospheric phenomenon surrounding solar eclipses, Shadow Band takes its 21st century neo-psychedelia as much from British as American influences, with a post-Zombies swirl of guitars, vintage keys, tambourines, pan flutes, and lingering smoke. The group came together around main songwriter and New Jersey native Mike Bruno, former leader of the Black Magic Family Band collective, which self-released a handful of albums in the early 2010s.
