Not to be confused with Sulene Fleming of Brand New Heavies and Dimitris & Sulene, Sulene is short for Brooklyn-based musician Sulene van der Walt. Making anthemic indie pop as a solo artist, she's also worked under her full name as a film/TV composer and as a touring guitarist for acts including Nate Ruess, Betty Who, and Candy Hearts. The South Africa native, who started playing guitar at age 14, graduated from the Berklee College of Music in Boston with a degree in film scoring in 2013.
